Methodology & accountability
How we compare providers, where our data comes from, and how we safeguard our independence.
What this site does
SOA Test Vergelijken is an independent comparison site for STI care in the Netherlands. We describe the available Dutch care paths — from public GGD and GP services, to non-profit ZIZ, commercial clinics (StadsKliniek, OneDayClinic, DC Klinieken, Amsterdam Tourist Doctors) and home-test providers (Soapoli-online, SoaStudentArts, Soapolinoord).
Our decision helper asks a few short questions about age, symptoms, anonymity preferences, urgency and insurance situation. Based on the answers we rank the providers.
What we compare on
For every provider we record four dimensions: cost, anonymity, speed, and eligibility. We add a list of pros and cons, locations, and the standard test panel.
Anonymity uses three levels: high (no link to insurer or medical record), medium (confidential but identifiable), and low (in your medical file, visible to your insurer).
Where our data comes from
All facts about providers come from public sources: the provider’s own website, RIVM, Soa Aids Nederland, the GGDs, and — where relevant — peer-reviewed papers or NL Times. Our news articles link directly to the original source.
Every provider has its own “verifiedOn” date visible on its detail page. The date of the last full review is shown at the bottom of this page.
No sponsorship, no affiliate links
We don’t accept money, discounts, or services from any provider. No affiliate links, no advertising, no sponsored banners. The site is editorially maintained.
If we ever enter a commercial relationship, we will disclose it at the top of every page.
